Tony Khan Stone Cold Steve Austin
Tony Khan Names the Dream Wrestler He’d Bring to AEW. AEW President Tony Khan has revealed which wrestling legend he would sign if he could bring in any star at their peak. Speaking on Superstar Crossover, Khan had a clear answer.
“Steve Austin. If you could get Steve Austin in the 90s and just have Steve Austin for the decade of the 90s, he’s the greatest ever,” Khan said. “If I had ever been fortunate enough to work with any iteration of Steve Austin, particularly in the 90s or early 2000s, I would count myself very fortunate.”
Khan’s admiration for Austin comes as no surprise. During the 1990s, “Stone Cold” became one of wrestling’s most popular figures. His rebellious persona, sharp mic skills, and intense rivalries made him the face of WWE’s Attitude Era.
Austin’s feuds with Vince McMahon, The Rock, and Triple H defined a generation of wrestling fans. His ability to connect with the audience set a standard for charisma and star power that few have matched since.
While signing a prime Steve Austin today isn’t possible, Khan’s comments reveal the qualities he values most in a top performer. AEW continues to search for talent who can electrify crowds, tell compelling stories, and leave a lasting legacy.
