John Cena Final Match Could Be on Same Day as AEW Worlds End. WWE may plan a major scheduling change for John Cena’s final match. According to Bryan Alvarez on Wrestling Observer Live (WOL), WWE might move Cena’s farewell bout to December 27, the same day as AEW Worlds End.
Original Plans for Cena’s Final Match
WWE originally scheduled Cena’s final match for early December at Saturday Night’s Main Event. This date allowed WWE to showcase the farewell bout without competing with other wrestling promotions.
Possible Clash with AEW
Now, WWE could shift the match to December 27, creating a direct clash with AEW’s Worlds End event. Alvarez reported that WWE is still discussing the change.
This potential clash matters because AEW Worlds End ranks among AEW’s biggest events of the year. A head-to-head schedule could create a rare showdown similar to the Monday Night Wars era.
Why WWE Might Consider the Change
WWE may want to counterprogram AEW Worlds End and draw maximum viewers for Cena’s final match. John Cena is one of WWE’s most popular stars, and his farewell bout will attract huge attention. Moving it to the same day as AEW’s event could dominate online and TV conversations about wrestling.
Fan Reactions
Fans have mixed opinions about this possible change. Some look forward to the direct showdown between WWE and AEW. Others worry it could split the wrestling audience and reduce viewership for both events. Either way, Cena’s final match remains one of the year’s most anticipated moments.
Final Thoughts
Although WWE hasn’t confirmed the date, having John Cena’s final match on the same day as AEW Worlds End would create an exciting clash. Fans will watch closely to see how WWE and AEW handle this potential head-to-head competition.
