WWE vs AEW
WWE vs AEW War: John Cena vs Brock Lesnar Vs AEW All Out 2025. AEW and WWE counter programming will heat up in September 2025. WWE plans to pit Brock Lesnar vs. John Cena directly against AEW’s All Out pay-per-view. The AEW event takes place on September 20th, 2025.
Brock Lesnar made a shocking return at SummerSlam 2025. He attacked John Cena, sparking talk of a big match at WWE’s Clash in Paris. However, Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter says WWE is saving the match for a bigger stage. That stage is the one set to compete with AEW.
“The main event for the show [up against AEW All Out] is Brock Lesnar and John Cena, so it’s a big one. Which is why Brock’s not in Paris, is because of this. They wanted him for this show, not for the Paris show, and that’s why Logan Paul got the gig,” Meltzer said on Wrestling Observer Radio.
The Battle for Viewers
Scheduling Lesnar vs. Cena opposite AEW All Out is a bold move. WWE wants to pull viewers from AEW’s Chicago-centered show. All Out has become a yearly highlight for AEW.
AEW All Out 2025 is expected to feature big matches and title fights. WWE is betting on Lesnar and Cena’s star power. These two names have drawn huge audiences for over a decade. WWE hopes they can outshine AEW’s biggest night.
The Rivalry
Lesnar and Cena have clashed many times. Fans remember battles at SummerSlam 2014 and Extreme Rules 2012. Lesnar often dominated, but Cena always fought back.
This match could be one of their last. That gives it extra meaning. Placing it against AEW’s All Out turns it into more than a wrestling match. It becomes a fight between the industry’s two biggest companies.
Why Lesnar Skipped Paris
Many thought Lesnar would wrestle at Clash in Paris. Instead, Logan Paul was announced. Meltzer says this is strategic. WWE wants Lesnar only for the rival-date event.
This keeps his star power in one place. It could boost ratings and pay-per-view sales. WWE clearly wants to make the competition with AEW as intense as possible.
On September 20th, 2025, the WWE vs AEW War takes center stage. Fans must choose: watch AEW’s All Out or see two of WWE’s greatest legends battle once more.
