AEW WrestleDream 2025 Rundown –
The main card for AEW WrestleDream 2025 kicked off in pure chaos as FTR and JetSpeed continued their unfinished business from the pre-show Tailgate Brawl.
FTR vs. JetSpeed – Tailgate Brawl Continues in a Chaotic Opener

The crowd erupted as both teams brawled through the entrance ramp and around ringside before the opening bell even rang. It was a fast-paced, high-energy start that instantly set the tone for the night. At one point, a miscommunication between Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler nearly cost FTR the match, allowing JetSpeed to take control. However, the veterans quickly regained momentum, countering JetSpeed’s double-team finisher and connecting with the Big Rig for a close near fall. In the closing moments, FTR’s manager at ringside discreetly held Kevin Knight’s leg, preventing him from kicking out as the referee counted the three. FTR stole the victory in controversial fashion, further cementing their cunning tactics and dominance in AEW’s tag team division.
Winner – FTR
Match Rating: B-
After FTR’s controversial victory over JetSpeed, the focus shifted to the main card of AEW WrestleDream 2025, featuring some of the most anticipated matches of the year. But before the bell rang for the next bout, veteran commentator Tony Schiavone took a moment to welcome a special guest in attendance — Lou Thesz’s wife, representing one of St. Louis’ most iconic wrestling legacies.
Schiavone asked about her experience at the event, and she expressed her excitement for the night ahead, praising the energy of the AEW crowd and the talent showcased across the card. It was a touching moment that connected the golden era of wrestling with the modern-day intensity of AEW WrestleDream 2025, perfectly setting the stage for the blockbuster matches still to come.
Jamie Hayter vs. Thekla – Ringside Chaos and Respect Tested

The first official match of AEW WrestleDream 2025 saw Jamie Hayter take on Thekla in a heated one-on-one contest. From the opening bell, both women exchanged stiff strikes, setting an intense tone for the rest of the night. AEW President Tony Khan had confirmed before the match that all competitors were banned from ringside, ensuring a fair fight with no interference.
Hayter controlled much of the early match with her trademark power offense, but her momentum briefly stalled when she interacted with Lou Thesz’s wife at ringside. That distraction gave Thekla the opening she needed to turn the tide. Thekla unleashed a furious comeback, even taking a moment to taunt Lou’s wife — reaching for a handshake only to pull back and smirk in disrespect, drawing loud boos from the St. Louis crowd.
Thekla dominated for several minutes, mocking and slapping Hayter, showing complete arrogance as she toyed with her opponent. Despite Thekla’s vicious offense and multiple near falls, Hayter showed heart, surviving a brutal spear by placing her foot on the bottom rope just in time. A frustrated Thekla attempted another spear, but Hayter countered beautifully, landing the Haterade to score the pinfall victory.
Winner: Jamie Hayter
Match Rating: B
After the match, Queen Amanita came down to the ring to celebrate with Hayter, but the celebration didn’t last long. The Sisters of Sin, Julia Hart, and Skye Blue appeared at ringside to check on Thekla, hinting that this rivalry is far from over.
$500,000 Money Match – Jurassic Express vs. The Young Bucks

The stakes couldn’t have been higher in this $500,000 Money Match at AEW WrestleDream 2025, and even before the bell rang, the entertainment had already begun. During The Young Bucks’ entrance, their new “No Money” gimmick flashed hilariously on the big screen — showing off nearly $500,000 in expenses and only $32 in their bank account, earning big laughs and chants from the crowd. As crowd was also having signs like “Donations for Bucks” Signs and was handing over them $1 Bills.
Once the bell rang, Jack Perry came out swinging, clearly driven by revenge after everything The Bucks had done to him in the past. Alongside Luchasaurus, the reunited Jurassic Express looked as sharp as ever, dominating early with high-impact offense. But The Bucks used their trademark speed and experience to fight back, showing they weren’t wrestling out of desperation — they were fighting purely for the money.
The St. Louis crowd broke into a unique chant of “You got no money!” as the Bucks took control, isolating Jack Perry and punishing him with precision strikes. The match hit another gear when Luchasaurus re-entered and single-handedly took out both Jackson brothers with an explosive flurry of power and aerial moves. The action was wild — from Matt Jackson’s cutter on Luchasaurus to the floor, to Nick Jackson’s Canadian Destroyer on the apron that left fans chanting, “This is awesome!”
Both teams traded finishers in a breathtaking sequence. The Bucks even hit a Lucha Bros-style double-team move, but Perry miraculously kicked out. After several near falls, The Young Bucks connected with the BTE Trigger, yet Luchasaurus saved the match. Moments later, Jack Perry hit a Canadian Destroyer off Luchasaurus’ back, leading to a TK Driver attempt that nearly sealed the win. The final moments saw Luchasaurus chokeslam Nick Jackson from the top rope, followed by Jurassic Express hitting their finisher as Jack Perry pinned Nick Jackson to secure the victory — and the $500,000 prize.
Winner: Jurassic Express (Jack Perry & Luchasaurus)
Match Rating: A-
After the match, Jack Perry extended his hand to The Young Bucks, hoping to bury the hatchet. The Bucks hesitated, but when Perry offered them part of the prize money, they seemed tempted. Before anything could happen, Don Callis’ Family — Josh Alexander, Lance Archer, and Mark Davis — stormed the ring and attacked Jurassic Express. They urged The Bucks to join the assault, but The Bucks instead walked away.
Suddenly, Kenny Omega appeared and confronted The Bucks backstage before charging to the ring. The crowd erupted as Omega helped Jurassic Express fight off Callis’ Family, standing tall and celebrating with Perry and Luchasaurus even holding Inoki Forever Sign remembring Antonio Inoki to close out a chaotic and emotional segment.
Tornado Trios Match – The Hurt Syndicate vs. The Demand

The chaos continued at AEW WrestleDream 2025 as The Hurt Syndicate — Bobby Lashley, Shelton Benjamin, and MVP — faced The Demand, consisting of Ricochet and The Gates of Agony. The match never had a traditional start, as The Demand ambushed The Hurt Syndicate during their entrance, sparking an all-out brawl before the bell even rang.
At ringside, The Demand dominated early, hurling Lashley, Benjamin, and MVP into the barricades and steel steps. They focused their attack on Shelton Benjamin, isolating him inside the ring in an attempt to score a quick victory. However, when Bobby Lashley began to rise to his feet, The Demand turned their attention to the powerhouse and laid him across a steel table. In a brutal spot, Shelton tried to intervene but was slammed through Lashley — crashing both men through the table in a moment that had fans on their feet.
With Lashley temporarily out, MVP stepped up but was quickly overwhelmed. Just when it seemed The Demand had complete control, Shelton made a defiant comeback, striking everyone in sight and giving MVP enough time to recover. That allowed Lashley to re-enter the fight, unleashing a devastating run of power moves, including a massive superplex on Ricochet from the top rope.
The chaos reached its peak when Shelton Benjamin threw Ricochet from the ring to the floor onto everyone below, then launched himself with a sandtorn dive, taking out both teams in spectacular fashion. Back in the ring, The Hurt Syndicate regained control, targeting The Gates of Agony. Lashley speared Toa Liona nearly in half, followed by a spinebuster on Bishop Kaun.
With only Ricochet left in the ring, the numbers game caught up to him. The Hurt Syndicate surrounded him, but before they could strike, Kaun shoved Ricochet out of the ring, stepping up to face them alone. In seconds, Lashley connected with a massive spear, and that was enough for the three-count.
Winner: The Hurt Syndicate (Bobby Lashley, Shelton Benjamin & MVP)
Match Rating: B+
After the match, the trio celebrated their hard-fought win as the crowd chanted their name. With this dominant victory, The Hurt Syndicate sent a clear message to the AEW locker room — they now may have their eyes set firmly on the AEW Trios Championships.
TNT Championship Match: Kyle Fletcher (c) Vs. Mark Briscoe

This was the fifth match between these two, both having two victories over each other heading in. As soon as the bell rang, the crowd came alive with chants of “Dem Boys” and “F* Don Callis,”** giving Briscoe the early edge. With that crowd energy, Mark Briscoe took control of the match, hitting a Froggy Bow on the floor to Fletcher and even pulling off a suicide dive through a steel chair that sent the champion reeling.
However, Fletcher turned things around with a powerbomb through the steel steps, shifting the momentum in his favor. The action was back and forth, with both men delivering double clotheslines and big boots that knocked each other down. The tension rose as both tried to land their finishers — Fletcher hitting a superplex from the top rope, and Briscoe responding with a Jay Driller on the apron followed by three straight Froggy Bows — one inside, one from the top rope, and one to the outside. But still, Fletcher kicked out at the last possible second as the crowd chanted, “This is awesome!”
Briscoe attempted a Burning Hammer, but Fletcher grabbed the referee’s shirt to escape and shoved Briscoe into the official. Taking advantage, Fletcher hit a low blow, followed by a brainbuster, yet Briscoe kicked out again. Finally, Fletcher delivered a brainbuster on the turnbuckles to secure the pinfall and retain his championship in a dramatic finish.
Winner: Kyle Fletcher retains the TNT Championship
Match Rating: B+
AEW Women’s World Championship Match: Kris Statlander (c) Vs. Toni Storm

Both women made spectacular entrances, setting the stage for one of the night’s most anticipated matches. From the opening bell, Toni Storm and Kris Statlander were out to prove who the better woman truly was, showcasing athleticism and attitude. Statlander gained the early advantage, delivering a slingshot on the apron that sent Storm reeling.
Toni Storm fought back with her signature offense, connecting with the Hip Attack and a Liger Bomb, but Statlander refused to stay down. Storm tried to finish things with the Storm Zero, but Statlander reversed into a submission hold, forcing Storm to scramble to the ropes. Later, Storm locked Statlander in a submission of her own, but Kris reached the ropes as well.
Momentum swung back and forth until Statlander landed a 450 Splash, yet Storm kicked out! Toni countered moments later with Storm Zero, but incredibly, Statlander kicked out again. In a dramatic closing sequence, Statlander used the same pinning combination that once earned her the championship, but Storm narrowly escaped. With frustration building, Statlander locked in another submission, and as Storm screamed “You’ll have to murder me!”, Statlander responded with a crushing Saturday Night Fever for the victory.
After the match, in a show of respect, Toni Storm handed the championship to Kris Statlander, embracing her and acknowledging that Statlander was the better woman that night.
Winner: Kris Statlander retains the AEW Women’s World Championship
Match Rating: B
After the emotional moment, Statlander’s celebration was cut short as Mercedes Moné’s music hit. The CEO made her way to the ring, stared down Statlander, and demanded she leave the ring — setting the stage for what could be the next major AEW Women’s World Championship rivalry.
Moné then announced an open challenge, but with a twist — anyone who wanted to challenge for her title would also have to put their own championship on the line. To everyone’s surprise, Mina Shirakawa, the ROH Interim Women’s TV Champion, stepped up to answer the challenge, setting the stage for a rare Champion vs. Champion showdown.
Championship vs. Championship Match: TBS Women’s Champion Mercedes Moné vs. ROH Interim Women’s TV Champion Mina Shirakawa
As the bell rang, Mina appeared to be enjoying the moment, playfully wrestling Moné early on — but the tone quickly shifted as both women began trading high-impact offense. Mercedes Moné, driven by her desire to extend her reign and prove her dominance, kept a measured pace, focusing on avoiding big risks and maintaining control.
Mina impressed the crowd with her precision strikes and confidence, showing how much she’d grown since their last meeting. At one point, she connected with her finisher, but Moné miraculously kicked out. Mina instantly transitioned into a submission hold, but Moné countered with a Meteora on the apron, shifting the match back in her favor.
Moné attempted to cheat by grabbing the ropes during a pin, but the referee caught her. As they argued, Mina charged in — only to accidentally collide with the referee. Moné took advantage, hitting her Money Maker finisher, but Mina still managed to grab a rope break, shocking the crowd.
Desperation set in for Moné, who went for another Money Maker — but Mina countered. In a lightning-fast exchange, Moné reversed Mina’s attack into a backslide pin, scoring the three-count and winning her 11th championship in professional wrestling history.
Winner: Mercedes Moné retains the TBS Women’s Championship and wins the ROH Women’s TV Championship
Match Rating: B-
As confetti filled the arena, Moné celebrated her record-breaking achievement — but her celebration was cut short when Kris Statlander stormed back into the ring. The two women stood face-to-face, tensions high. When Moné tried to strike first, Statlander countered with a Samoan Drop, then tossed Moné out of the ring, standing tall with championship in sight as the crowd erupted.
AEW World Tag Team Championship Match: Brodido (Brody King & Bandido) c. Vs. Don Callis Family’s Kazuchika Okada & Konosuke Takeshita

This AEW World Tag Team Championship clash was one of the most intriguing matchups of the night, pitting the dominant champions Brodido against the powerhouse pairing of Kazuchika Okada (AEW Unified Champion) and Konosuke Takeshita (IWGP World Heavyweight Champion) — representing The Don Callis Family.
The match opened with Bandido and Okada squaring off, and in a show of sportsmanship, Bandido extended his hand for the Code of Honor — but Okada arrogantly flipped him off, drawing loud boos from the crowd. Despite the pre-match tension between Okada and Takeshita, both men surprisingly worked well together early on, making frequent tags and cutting the ring in half, though their faces showed zero camaraderie.
Brodido, as always, brought the perfect mix of power and charisma. Brody King and Bandido controlled much of the early match — even pausing mid-fight for a comedic “Macarena dance” moment that got the crowd roaring. But their fun backfired, as Okada and Takeshita took advantage and regained control. Okada even mockingly did the Macarena himself — with both middle fingers up, causing a hilarious yet heated moment as Takeshita mistook it as disrespect aimed at him, creating friction within the team.
This miscommunication allowed Brodido to recover, turning the tide once again. The pace quickened, and the match broke into chaos with each wrestler hitting big signature moves in succession, electrifying the crowd.
At ringside, Don Callis briefly left commentary to check on Okada after a rough fall, then rejoined after getting a reassuring nod from the Rainmaker. Inside the ring, Takeshita set up for his finisher on Bandido, but Okada blind-tagged himself in, going for the Rainmaker to steal the win — only for Bandido to counter beautifully.
In the confusion, Brody King stormed back into the ring and hit Okada with the Dante’s Inferno, but Takeshita broke the pin at the last second. Okada tried to rally again with a German Suplex setup, with Takeshita assisting, but Brody King powered through and delivered a monstrous triple suplex on all three men — an incredible show of strength.
In the final sequence, Bandido was left alone against both Okada and Takeshita. Okada went for another Rainmaker, but Bandido dodged, and Okada accidentally struck Takeshita instead. Okada smiled sadistically at his own partner, showing zero remorse. Despite an injured arm from earlier attacks, Bandido fired up, hit a one-arm suplex on Okada, and pinned him clean in the middle of the ring to retain the titles.
Winner: Brodido (Brody King & Bandido) retain the AEW World Tag Team Championships
Match Rating: A
After the match, Bandido celebrated in the ring with his son, a heartwarming scene that contrasted perfectly with the chaos that came before it. Don Callis rushed to check on Okada, completely ignoring the frustrated Takeshita, who looked visibly heartbroken after being the one struck down. Meanwhile, the night ended on a high note for the champions as Brody King and Bandido danced together once again, bringing their celebration full circle — the kings of the tag team division standing tall while The Don Callis Family’s cracks began to show.
After the AEW Women’s World Championship match, Toni Storm was seen backstage for an exclusive interview. The interviewer asked her about her heartbreaking loss to Kris Statlander earlier in the night and what the future now holds for her career. Toni, visibly emotional and shaken, stood silently for a few moments — her signature Hollywood poise replaced with raw disappointment.
Before she could answer, Mina Shirakawa appeared on-screen, fresh from her own tough loss against Mercedes Moné in the Championship vs. Championship match. Toni finally spoke, saying quietly, “We’ve lost everything…” Her tone was defeated, almost broken.
Mina gently placed a hand on Toni’s shoulder and replied, “No, Toni… we still have each other.” The two shared a solemn but comforting moment — a rare glimpse of unity and emotion between two of AEW’s most glamorous yet complex stars.
It seems the story of Toni Storm and Mina Shirakawa is far from over, and now the question remains: will their bond help them rise back to glory… or lead to something far more dramatic in the weeks ahead?
AEW World Championship Match – Hangman Adam Page (c) vs. Samoa Joe

The main event of AEW WrestleDream 2025 brought high anticipation as Hangman Adam Page defended the AEW World Championship against the dominant veteran Samoa Joe. The match began at a calculated, methodical pace, with both men testing each other’s power and endurance. However, unlike his usual grounded strategy, Hangman surprised everyone by relying more on aerial attacks and agility, trying to outmaneuver the heavier Samoa Joe.
Hangman targeted Joe’s arm early, hoping to weaken the Coquina Clutch, but Joe’s brute strength turned the tide. He drove Page into the barricades and unleashed his trademark stiff strikes and chops, showing why he remains one of the most dangerous men in professional wrestling. Joe’s taunts and a disrespectful slap to Hangman’s face only fueled Page’s fire — the champion fired back with a burst of offense, connecting with a devastating series of forearms and a moonsault to the outside.
However, when Hangman attempted another top-rope moonsault, he missed most of it, giving Joe the opening he needed. Joe locked in the Coquina Clutch, nearly putting Hangman out, but the champion managed to grab the bottom rope at the last possible second.
Hangman rallied back with a thunderous Dead Eye, but Joe shockingly kicked out at two. With the crowd on their feet, Hangman screamed, “Come on, motherf**er!”* and hit three consecutive Buckshot Lariats, each harder than the last, finally pinning Samoa Joe to retain the AEW World Championship.
Winner: Hangman Adam Page retains the AEW World Championship
Match Rating: A–
After the match, in a powerful show of respect, The Opps came down to the ring and stood beside their faction leader, Samoa Joe. The crowd chanted “Joe! Joe! Joe!” as Joe shook Hangman’s hand and raised it in victory — a seemingly respectful end to the brutal encounter.
But in a shocking twist, Samoa Joe blindsided Hangman Page, attacking him from behind. The Orbs joined in, stomping the fallen champion as the crowd erupted in boos, chanting “F** you, Joe!”* Joe then lifted the AEW World Championship, stared at it coldly, and smashed it across Hangman’s face.
Finally, Joe delivered a Muscle Buster onto the championship belt, leaving Hangman motionless in the ring. Medical staff rushed in to assist as Samoa Joe and The Orbs stood tall, leaving the arena drenched in fury and disbelief.
Main Event: “I Quit” Match — Jon Moxley vs. Darby Allin

After months of violence, mind games, and psychological warfare, Jon Moxley and Darby Allin finally collided in the main event of AEW WrestleDream 2025 in what can only be described as a modern-day bloodbath.
As soon as the bell rang, Darby Allin pulled out the AEW flag and laid it in front of Moxley, testing his respect for the company that made them both. Moxley’s shocking response — stomping on the flag — ignited the crowd and enraged Darby. Allin exploded with a series of wild attacks, but Marina Shafir interfered early, allowing Moxley to take control.
From there, things turned disturbingly violent. Moxley wrapped a steel chain around his fist and smashed it into Darby’s face repeatedly, busting him open instantly. Fans erupted in “F— You Moxley!” chants as Moxley shouted into the camera, “I tried to help him! It’s his fault!” The brutality escalated when Marina handed Moxley chopsticks, which he used to pluck Darby’s fingernails — one of the most grotesque AEW visuals to date. The crowd could barely watch.
Darby refused to quit despite being bloodied, bitten, and broken — even after Moxley bit his fingers and whipped him across the back with a leather belt. Darby screamed, “Come on, motherf**er!”* showing his trademark defiance. He fought back, grabbing the AEW flag to choke Moxley, mirroring Hangman Page’s Texas victory over Moxley, but Moxley gouged Darby’s eyes to break free.
Moments later, Darby grabbed a bottle of flaming liquid and poured it on Moxley. The crowd collectively gasped as Darby searched for a lighter. Moxley pleaded with him not to, while the Death Riders stormed the ring — only for Darby to pepper spray them all. Moxley recovered with a cutter, then discovered a taser in Darby’s weapon bag. After another low blow from Marina, Moxley tased Darby, followed by a Curb Stomp and Paradigm Shift onto a steel chair.
But the violence didn’t stop there. Claudio Castagnoli entered the ring and threw Darby from inside the ring through the commentary table, while PAC helped drag him back. Moxley then hit a piledriver through two tables at ringside, prompting “This is murder!” chants from the horrified fans.
Desperate to end it, Moxley and the Death Riders brought in a giant fish tank, filling it with water. Moxley tried to drown Darby, screaming at the referee to end the match. But Darby — who had trained his breath control for his upcoming Mount Everest climb — refused to quit.
Then, in one of the night’s loudest moments — the lights went out. When they returned, STING stood in the ring. The arena erupted. The Icon destroyed the Death Riders with his bat, shattered the fish tank, and locked eyes with both men. He pointed the bat at Moxley, then at Darby — and handed it to his former partner. The crowd roared, “Thank you, Sting!”
Darby, shaking with rage and emotion, unleashed hell — beating Moxley with the bat, choking him with the AEW flag, hitting a Stinger Death Drop, then climbing the ropes for a Coffin Drop. Finally, he locked in the Scorpion Death Lock, screaming at Moxley to quit. After one of the most violent wars in AEW history, Jon Moxley finally screamed “I QUIT!”
Darby Allin, covered in blood, raised the AEW flag high as the show went off the air — the ultimate symbol of defiance and pride.
