AEW's Anthony Bowens Asks Tony Khan to Cancel Upcoming Collision Match
AEW’s Anthony Bowens Asks Tony Khan to Cancel Upcoming Collision Match. The Acclaimed, made up of Anthony Bowens and Max Caster, were once one of AEW’s most exciting homegrown tag teams. Their charisma, teamwork, and rhythm made them instant fan favorites. However, over time, tension began to build. After enjoying a strong run together, the duo surprisingly decided to part ways, leading to uncertainty in both wrestlers’ careers.
Singles Struggles and Growing Frustration
Since the split, Max Caster’s singles run has been rocky, marked by several losses that stalled his momentum. Meanwhile, Anthony Bowens has found himself lost in AEW’s crowded roster. Recently, veteran Jerry Lynn has been trying to reunite them, believing The Acclaimed still have magic left as a team. Yet, both men remain reluctant to reconcile, showing visible resentment toward each other.
Collision Controversy: Bowens Speaks Out
Despite their personal differences, AEW management booked Bowens and Caster for a tag team match against Big Bill and Brian Keith on next week’s AEW Collision. Jerry Lynn’s push for a reunion hasn’t been well received—especially by Bowens. He took to X (formerly Twitter) to publicly ask Tony Khan to cancel the bout, writing:
“Hey @TonyKhan! I saw today is your off day! I was wondering…during your down time…could you take a second to cancel this match happening next Saturday night on @AEW Collision?? Thanks!”
Bowens even ended his post on a lighthearted note, cheering on the Jacksonville Jaguars.
