Tony Khan Shuts Down Claims That AEW Doesn’t Tell Stories. AEW President Tony Khan has fired back at one of the most common criticisms of All Elite Wrestling. Many fans online claim AEW does not focus on storytelling. Speaking on Superstar Crossover with Z100 New York, Khan called that idea “not only a misconception, but a falsehood.”
“I think the stories in AEW have been as strong as ever,” Khan said. “If you haven’t seen the show lately, or if you’re just listening to a false narrative, you can tell me honestly whether you agree with this or not. There’s a lot of storytelling in AEW. I think it’s fantastic, and a lot of the fans who actually pay attention to it think it’s great. There’s people that would say there’s a lack, and I don’t agree with this. I think it’s untrue, of stories in AEW. It’s really not only a misconception, but a falsehood that people spread.”
Khan’s comments come during a wave of online debate about AEW’s creative style. Some fans say the company prioritizes matches over long-term narratives. Khan disagrees. He believes AEW has some of the most consistent storytelling in wrestling today.
Recent shows have featured feuds and arcs stretching across months. Titles, personal rivalries, and surprise turns all weave through Dynamite, Collision, and Rampage. Khan stressed that the fans who follow closely often appreciate the layered approach. Those who complain, he says, may not be watching regularly.
AEW continues to build toward major events with storylines that blend character growth and in-ring drama. Khan is confident that the product speaks for itself.
