Chris Jericho Shares Emotional Tribute to PAC and Recalls Their Matches. Chris Jericho shared a heartfelt tribute to PAC, remembering Benjamin Satterley as both an exceptional professional wrestler and an even better person. In a message reflecting on their years together, Jericho recalled PAC’s sense of humor, their memorable matches across the world, and the important role Ben played when AEW was first being formed.
Chris Jericho Remembers PAC’s Personality
Jericho began his tribute by explaining that he was wearing a shirt specifically to honor Ben. He acknowledged that plenty could be said about PAC’s abilities inside the ring, but he wanted to focus on the person behind the performer.
“So first off, I’m wearing this shirt as a tribute to Ben, if you know, you know,” Jericho said.
“People didn’t talk about how great a performer he was, which he was, and how great a person he was, which he was even more.”
Jericho then recalled one of the things he remembered most fondly about Ben: his ability to make people laugh.
“But Ben always made me smile, always made me laugh. Great sense of humor,” Jericho said.
One particular memory involved a European tour bus, where Jericho was sitting a few seats behind Ben as they traveled. Ben was persistently debating his favorite comic book character, Billy Wiz, which eventually became a private joke between the two.
“He was persistently debating his favorite comic book character, Billy Wiz, and it kind of became a private joke between us, Billy Wiz,” Jericho recalled.
Jericho Recalls PAC’s Incredible Matches
Jericho also looked back at the first time he worked with PAC in Tokyo. The match left such an impression on him that Jericho immediately believed Ben was destined for something bigger.
“And the first time I ever worked with him was in Tokyo, and we tore the house down,” Jericho said.
“I remember going to him after saying, ‘This guy’s a star. You got to do something with this guy.’”
The two would go on to work together several more times, including a match at Madison Square Garden. Jericho admitted that the MSG match did not go as planned and jokingly suggested that some of the mistakes may have been his.
“There was a few mistakes, probably caused by me, because Ben didn’t make mistakes in the ring,” Jericho said.
He then pointed out the irony of that statement, noting that Ben himself would apparently claim the opposite.
“Although he would claim he made nothing but mistakes in the ring, if you know, you also know.”
PAC and Jericho Made Up for MSG the Next Night
Jericho and PAC had another opportunity to work together the following night in Glens Falls, New York. According to Jericho, the two delivered another memorable performance.
“And so we had a match again the very next night in Glens Falls, New York, where we tore the house down,” Jericho recalled.
Jericho remembered wishing they could have produced that performance at Madison Square Garden.
“I remember saying, ‘Man, I wish we could have that match tonight, match night in MSG.’”
Ben’s response became another memory that Jericho would never forget.
“He said, ‘Yeah, the people of Glens Falls would have gotten this,’” Jericho recalled.
That match remained particularly meaningful to Jericho, who hoped the people who witnessed it in Glens Falls still remembered what PAC was capable of inside the ring.
Chris Jericho Recalls Bringing PAC Into AEW
Jericho also revealed that Ben was among the first wrestlers he contacted when AEW was initially being put together. He wanted PAC to be part of the new promotion and personally reached out to him.
“When we first started putting AEW together, Ben was one of the first guys I called to bring in to come to AEW and tell him how great the company this was,” Jericho said.
When Ben eventually joined AEW, Jericho said he continued to demonstrate why he was so highly regarded.
“And when he finally came and joined us, he was nothing but the best of the best,” Jericho said.
Jericho then reflected on the many memories they shared, including moments that were both joyful and frightening, while wishing there could have been more time together.
“I love you, man. I’m gonna miss you, and we had so many great times together, some scary ones too, but I wish there was so much more,” Jericho said.
“Miss you, Billy Wiz.”
Jericho ended his message by remembering the people of Glens Falls and the match he shared with Ben there.
“It was fine, people of Glens Falls, New York. I hope you still remember that match. God bless, buddy.”
